Workunit extremely off center

I know it has been brought up here in the past that slightly off center images are not a big deal but I have found one workunit that the area of interest is half way out of the image. I can't remember if this needs to be brought to anybody's attention or if it is a known problem and I should just let it run.

Re: Workunit extremely off center

Thanks for bringing up that problem work-unit. As was the case before, this is an older image that predates the auto-centering software we developed for the imaging robot.

I just checked on the original image data for that batch -- some images are good, but many in that batch are badly off-centre, like yours. We won't get any usable data from that image. Fortunately, we have images earlier and later of the same experiments, so we can interpolate.

Thanks again,

Christian

Re: Workunit extremely off center

I think we'd like to continue processing these images. Some images in the batch are perfectly fine, and those results will be analyzed in the usual way. For those badly off-centre images, I will collect the results and use them to train a quality-control feedback system.

So please let images like these run.

Thanks,

Christian

Re: Workunit extremely off center

Hello cubes,

you could create a small Distributed Human Project where volunteers could classify images as either "well centered" or "off center".Could help reduce or even eliminate these images from being processed and wasted on the grid.
