Re: What's in a name: Is the "Clean Energy" moniker in CEP justified?

Dear andzgrid,

we appreciate your comments. It is well possible that there would have been a more suitable name for this project. But the fact remains that the ship on this question has long sailed...

Best

Not only has it sailed, it has also docked and partially unloaded its cargo.

Help Conquer Cancer...
The mission of Help Conquer Cancer is to improve the results of protein X-ray crystallography, which helps researchers not only annotate unknown parts of the human proteome, but importantly improves their understanding of cancer initiation, progression and treatment.

... from your argument this should have the title of "x-ray crystallography for a cancer cure" or something like that?

Umm ... Actually I think the HCC project was improperly named -- should have been Help Characterise Crystallisation or some such. smile

But it's a bit late now.

Why is a Banana not called "bend yellowish fruit with potassium rich content"? Here's why HCC is called HCC, as there it is where it came from: http://www.helpconquercancer.ca/home/proceeds.php

Re: What's in a name: Is the "Clean Energy" moniker in CEP justified?

After thinking about this some more, I have found that the Internet is incorrectly named and as a name is misleading and should only be used by companies that string fishing nets betweeen 2 or more boats. The current term 'Internet' needs to be renamed to the more accurate term 'MultipleComputerNetwork' and this needs to be done immediately.

Good Night wink

Hi again,
thanks for all the voices of support - we really appreciate it. But we should leave it at that now. andzgrid made a fair point, we heard it, explained ourselves, and now we should move on.
Happy crunching to everybody!
Best wishes,
