Thanks for the update - although after looking at the Positions of Batches chart, that doesn't look as though it's correct. Basically, I've pulled down quite a few batches in the 1400's series (last lot, were from batch # 1435), yet on that graph it's showing that we've just begun processing ~batch # 1325...

Great. Considering the ''received' and indexed'' charts at http://graal.ens-lyon.fr/~nbard/WCGStats/ and my queue showing children of 1385+1425, there's probably a good 1%+ more of completed tasks on the WCG servers subject to confirmation. As of noon we net:
Per WCG stats: 33788665 (Total tasks validated / 2.06) Net Per Nico_B: 33088783 Completed Backlog: 699882 The current daily average is about 131,000 (quorum 2) Wonder if WCG could add the net assimilated tasks counter to the Project Statistics pages, if they do keep track of that. For some sciences where volume is known this would work as a good base to approximate progress (allowing to derive the relative error rate :O) --//-- |

My abacus makes it late Q2-2012, Spring Break and Summer Holiday effects inclusive. This indicator has not moved for quite a few months, hard entered May 31, and computed May 29, subject to change without notice of course :O)

Hey, it would be great if the BOINC client showed this status. That way contributors could watch the progress in near real time rather than having to wait for updates on the forums. It would also take the burden off the researchers to manually update us.

A good suggestion, but...
Ah, never mind the buts, it's a good suggestion; crunchers want to know their participation is leading to progress and when there is conclusion... - Statistics updated on 2011 April 15th : 68.35% - So we should now be at about 70% complete |

A good suggestion, but... Ah, never mind the buts, it's a good suggestion; crunchers want to know their participation is leading to progress and when there is conclusion... - Statistics updated on 2011 April 15th : 68.35% - So we should now be at about 70% complete "A good suggestion" you say so you will have thought out the mechanics how to get the information from the different WCG project scientist groups, not only at WCG, into the BOINC Manager, for that is being suggested? If you have, would you please write it up and then submit the discussion document to Berkeley. Maybe a mechanism that submits "progress" to the up and coming Notices section of BOINC v 6.12? Of course, everyone would have to upgrade their client. nmgwcg, The project owners are responsible for giving updates on the progress and that you'll find for most through links on the respective research pages such as http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/research/cep2/overview.do which leads to http://cleanenergy.harvard.edu/index.php?ira=...debar&sidebar=science , which as it happens for practical purposes is collected for the members on a single sheet which is stickied in a post at top of the Start Here forum. It is "best estimate" as there are too many ''variables'' in the equation, such as the % shown at the HCMD2 progress page being weeks behind what we've processed at WCG. Go http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread?thread=18277 and click on the "Active/Intermittent Research Dashboard" link for an "all in one" view of many metrics. cheers --//-- edit: If you bookmark the last link, you'll never have to search again :-) [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Apr 29, 2011 6:11:32 AM] |

Sekerob, why isn't WCG perfect, just wondering? Oh by the way could you teach me computer programming by tomorrow? Not making fun of anyone but myself, so if anyone is about to be upset, if you knew me, which is difficult, you would not be. Despite that many seem to become easily offended, which I attribute to their insecurity, which is really ashame, and not anything I purposefully do! At least try not to do! Complex world, thank God, but makes understanding not so easy!
