I seem to have gotten somehow the same computer listed twice in my device list. Is that going to be a problem? How can I clean it up? Should I even care?

Murray,
Each time that you install the agent, it creates a new 'device'. This is true even if you are re-installing the agent on the same computer with the same device name. This does not affect processing of the work units. There are filters on the Device Manager page: http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/ms/device/viewDevices.do These allow you to not see devices that were registered awhile ago and have not been returning work units. The default display of this page only shows devices that were either registered in the past 7 days or returned a result within the last 14 days. The Device Statistics page: http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/ms/device/viewStatisticsByDevice.do does basically the same thing except that only devices that have returned a result will be shown. |
