cleanenergy, I see you don't have a profile/signature.
Perhaps you could provide these LAIM & Hibernation answers in your profile; these same questions & answers tend to crop up almost daily. http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/changesignature |

Try a few manual updates and give it a while. Tasks are allocated from feeders, that may or may not have tasks from your project at any given time. If you don't get any check your choice of project includes CEP2, including the specific CEP2 options. If your settings are fine and you don't get any tasks after an hour or so, post back again and check the forum for any possible problems.
----------------------------------------- Just checked this myself and I am getting the same message. Perhaps they are loading tasks or working on the feeders. I would still expect it to be sorted soon. - I think this may just be to do with the ratio of CEP2 tasks to other projects and the number you chose to run at any time: I increased the number I run on my i7's from 3 to 5 and got tasks. When I decreased to 4 I started getting the same error message again. Yep, that's it. If you already have 1 and your settings limit you to 1 task at a time then no matter how high you increase your cache you will not get any more than 1 task at a time. I had 3 so I got no more when I increased the cache by a day. I had to increase the number to run at any one time (5) to get more CEP2 tasks. Unless you use unlimited you will not get tasks in the same way as you do for other projects. If you chose to set the number to anything other than unlimited then you should keep a really small cache or the ratio of CEP2 tasks you get will end up being less than you want. You should also chose to crunch for other projects if you use anything other than unlimited. [Edit 3 times, last edit by skgiven at Apr 4, 2011 4:10:02 PM] |

Please check your settings on the website. Again. adrianxw, There hasn't been a recent shortage of work units in the feeder for CEP2 recently and skgiven's last paragraph above is correct. The setting that only allows one work unit means that only one CEP2 work unit is downloaded (regardless of what you have set your cache size to). If no other projects are selected, then you will get the message that no work is available for the applications you've selected. If you wish to change the number of CEP2 work units for your computers, you can do so in the custom settings here (My Grid -> Device Manager -> Device Profiles) https://secure.worldcommunitygrid.org/ms/devi...ncProfileConfiguration.do Seippel |

The setting was 1, I have set it to 2. I have Clean Energy as the only project selected, and I have a 10% WCG quota on this machine and 15% on the other I have at this site.
It really shouldn't be crunching more than 1 per machine with the quotas thus, but it means that the "next one" is not downloaded ready to start when the previous unit completes. A trivial problem I suppose. |

As I sad above, trivial, but once again I have...

adrianxw, I'm not picking up any CEP2 tasks either, even with Unlimited selected. Alas it's the same story for DDDT2, the other project I would particularly want to contribute to at the present time. So I will do a few of each of the other tasks and a few non-WCG tasks for a while. Hope to see both projects up and running more fully soon.

I finished a CEP2 task and it started to upload. The system stopped crunching all CPU tasks for around a minute and desktop applications stopped responding. In Task Manager the overall CPU usage was about 15% (only because a GPUGrid task was still using one full CPU core). None of the CPU tasks were reporting any CPU usage. There were no failures or lockups, just a lack of system responsiveness and an idle CPU period. Boinc reported that tasks were still running, but they were clearly not. Only 6 CEP2 tasks + 1 GPU task (no issue) was running. I'm only losing about 10min per task (elapsed time - CPU time).
----------------------------------------(i7-860, 8GB, 2TB, Win X64, Boinc 6.10.58, plenty of free space & RAM). [Edit 1 times, last edit by skgiven at Apr 10, 2011 10:23:17 AM] |

adrianxw,
That error occurs if the application is unable to extract some of the input files. This is one of the first things done so it is strange that you would see it after 6 hours. If you continue to see this error you may want to check your disk or make sure your antivirus is not blocking the input extraction. Thanks, armstrdj |
