Thanks Kevin, also because these numbers came in handy for the 'how to improve communications' discussion... 52% of the CEP2 crunchers (as of client 6.12) have access to the 'Notices' information. Don't know but guess this is not far off from the general 6.12/7.0 adoption.
The number derived from the list is that 2605 of 17377 CEP2 crunchers have the app_config.xml feature at their disposal to control concurrent CEP2 tasks or 15% of total, meaning these could buffer more and enhance the uninterrupted computing experience for CEP2 if the their system(s) would not be able to run this science efficiently if running on all cylinders. For the interested, visit prior app_config.xml discussions... the best thing in BOINC multi-core crunching since the invention of sliced bread... Speaking of multi-core, multi-threaded would be nice too [although an interesting discussion at Berkeley revealed that not all threads locked utilizes all cores at 100% if at all, some mostly idling, because of one thread waiting on another for a slice of processed data... can 't win them all :D] |
