I'm a little concerned about one WCG workunit. It looks like it's finished, but it hasn't budged for several days. The BOINC Manager properties page shows
----------------------------------------
It's from Help Cure Muscular Dystrophy - Phase 2 6.14 CMD2_1175-2JZA_A.clustersOccur-2B3O_A.clustersOccur_2_0 Suggestions? P.S. Report deadline is tomorrow, Dec. 28, 6:20 p.m. [Edit 2 times, last edit by Ardis at Jan 9, 2011 11:28:01 PM] |

Well, apparently all one needs to do is complain in the fora, and the issue gets fixed, pronto. Since my previous post the WU in question ran another 18 seconds (!), status: ready to report, and BOINC Manager uploaded the results.
Ate a clock and all's well. |

Ardis, glad all is now well
----------------------------------------![]() Could you please mark your opening thread [Resolved] - like what I've just done, so that people know it isn't now an issue. As to why that particular WU went into "Waiting to run" status, it'll more likely be due to BOINC thinking that there's another WU (or more) which won't get completed in time to meet it's deadline - and thus, it runs them until it's sure it can. After which, it returned to complete this particular WU off. May I ask, what is your cache set at? - as if that's set high, then there's a greater chance of BOINC getting into a 'Panic state' such as this, and swapping WU's around. ![]() |

"May I ask, what is your cache set at?"
----------------------------------------Cache settings: Connect to network about every 1 days Cache 0.25 extra days of work I notice BOINC running "high priority" once in a great while. Re: Fraction done: 100.000% This would seem to indicate to the casual observer that the WU in question was actually completed, which was not true in this case. It would seem to me that if the percentage in question were rounded down, rather than truncated or (gasp!) rounded up, this wouldn't happen. In most cases, that would be a small difference (3 decimal places, c'mon), but would fix the "finished but not done" issue of the original post. Compared to cancer or world hunger, this is not a biggie, but maybe somebody could tweak it when they had a little bit of extra time, like maybe while waiting for lunch to warm up in the microwave... P.S. I don't see how to mark the thread resolved. Do I just manually add "[Resolved]" to the title, or is there an official switch that I'm not finding?
