Currently, the FAQ thread states about the exit code 0xc000013a that
The problem has firmly been resolved with the WCG/BOINC update 5.10.45. This version incorporates checking of extra Vista condition codes. Both in Single User and Service Install, Vista permits proper closure and resuming of work that was in progress before system restart or boot. I'm running BOINC 6.10.58 in Windows 7 and i still occasionally get WUs with 0xc000013a exit code. It could be that my firewall is doing something behind my back, but i seriously doubt it. I'm sure you've got a lot on your plate as it is and i really don't care if i occasionally lose a WU, but i just wanted to dump this info somewhere, maybe it helps. |

Thnks, yeah there seem to be the occasional regressions in the code which I thoroughly do not understand why, but they do. For your "too fast closing" issue you might want to visit the thread that was started in the Chat Room by wplachy http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread_thread,30532, to run a shutdown script and kill 2 birds with one stone. Also, with W7, I've set the service to start with a delay, and my Avast security software too, so that both won't even load before all the main systems have resumed running. On the other hand, if you experience this only rarely, then as you concluded, why worry.
----------------------------------------cheers PS, will add a note in the FAQ when I get there of this sporadic recurrence.
