Project Weight

I have two profiles that are setup to run both C4CW and CEP2 and I am running more than 1 CEP2 WU per machine. Why then are 90% of my WU belonging to CEP2 and 10% to C4CW. Why isn't it closer to 50-50? C4CW has a project share of 10.9% and CEP2 is only 4.6% which suggests I get more C4CW not less?

Re: Project Weight

astrolab, while CEP2 is weighted less then C4CW, there are a LOT less machines that crunch CEP2 since it is an opt-in project. There are also even fewer that allow CEP2 to run wild on their systems. This means for people like you who do let CEP2 run wild, a higher percentage of your WU will be CEP2.
Sekerob, mentioned that his quad was setup for many projects, yet it got 4 CEP2 WU crunching at once and resulted in 30 WUs erroring out.

Re: Project Weight

I have the same experience, and many others have commented similarly. I suspect that it's because there are far more machines accepting C4CW WUs than have opted in for CEP2.

Since running a mix of CEP2 and other projects is so very desirable, it would be nice if there were an easy way to actually do it.

Re: Project Weight

I'm having the same problem, but I've checked to participate to all projects. From my 10 most latest work units, only three has not been CEP2. And when CEP2 units take about six hours each, those other wu's have taken together 7 hours. So 42/7 ..

Re: Project Weight

@anhhai, no I'm not getting errors, hardly had (1 in 1000). It was a choice made for reason that needs no repetition.

Re: Project Weight

At 40%, left alone, my quad was almost exclusively running CEP2 and has in last few days necessitated the abort of some 30 CEP2 tasks ** to restrain it to 2 of 4 cores, to maintain system efficiency, the inefficiency NOT recorded. Rather than doing 7-8 CEP2 results per day on my quad, it's back to maybe 2-2.2 results per day. I'd not call that a success, if squeezing out a few more years at a price is what you'd mark that... increased frustration for mix crunchers ( n / cores = 2 would have been good for many and me)

Sorry Sekerob, I misread that. I read it as 30 errors, not 30 aborts.
