I have two computers at home that are connected to WCG. They both have the same operating system and are on the same network. I have a third computer also on the same network and same OS, but it won't connect and is giving me the message.
Mon 22 Nov 2010 05:40:48 AM CST http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/ Scheduler request failed: Peer certificate cannot be authenticated with known CA certificates I've tried messing with ca-bundle.crt and everything. I'm at a loss. I have no idea why I can't get this thing to connect. |

Hi,
----------------------------------------You dont say if you messed around with or without the help of this FAQ on the matter: http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread?thread=15682 With a proper installed Linux, you'd not even need the BOINC certificate, but if at all it has to be in the right place and of course with permission to read. Let us know. PS, I'm running with the GetDeb compiled BOINC kit v 6.10.58 on Ubuntu 10.04.1 LTS http://www.ubuntuupdates.org/pm/boinc. They're often down, alternate source: https://launchpad.net/~pkg-boinc/+archive/ppa

Yes I did try the solutions/workarounds in the FAQ. Nothing. Every other project works fine and my other computers with the same Gentoo install work fine. Well, I have to go to work, so, I'll have to pick this up later.

if all else fail, you can un-install boinc and re-install it.

Hi,
----------------------------------------Whilst you were at work, I'm now going for my second round of shuteye... did though on the quick find a gentoo bugzilla report with the Google search word combo "BOINC gentoo peer certificate" which hit on this: http://bugs.gentoo.org/249997 Maybe this has the answer, and if it does, I'll add it to the FAQ. I re-installed everything including ca-certificates. I guess I'll dig through all my boinc settings and see if I can find a problem somewhere.

I am getting the same error message too. Re-installing the certificates didn't help. I will a complete uninstall and fresh install next.

Updated my BOINC with a fresh install of the latest version client - 6.10.58. Didn't do any good. I am running BOINC on Windows Vista btw.
