I take that to mean the beta test was a success.

Mostly yes. There is still an issue being worked on, but this version is an improvement over the previous so it has been released.

I know it's been frustrating for many people trying to run this project. I have been fortunate enough to run CEP2 virtually problem free from the get go.
----------------------------------------Thanks for all the hard work you and all the other techs do to keep things as trouble free as possible. I know it ain't easy. That's why y'all get the big bucks. ![]()

Should we then abort the 6.35 units we have in cache ? As a general rule of thumb, no. If the techs decide that a batch is corrupted enough to warrant aborting it, they can do so from their end on tasks that have not yet started. I wouldn't worry about it. You'll be doing all new tasks quickly enough. ![]() Distributed computing volunteer since September 27, 2000 |

Should we then abort the 6.35 units we have in cache ? de Bary, Linux was 6.19 and is upgraded to 6.37 which has all the improvement that have since 6.19 gone into the Windows 6.35 version. Windows v 6.35 and Linux/Mac v 6.37 are now on par in efficiency. It's not uncommon to have different versions on different platforms if there was a platform specific issue that needed fixing. --//--

Does this update address the poor crunching results for various individuals who had Linux kernel 2.6.32-25?

RaymondFO,
----------------------------------------Plz see post by uplinger and no, the beta test still had reports by some members of the CPU time regression versus Elapsed time. Not heard of members that had the problem with .25 and not with .24 if under kernel 2.6.32.26 (latest 10.04.1 LTS release) this behavior shows too. I'm not seeing it with this kernel, but then never had this time loss under any kernel version. From our other thread and tests discussion, seems the kernel scheduler performance patch is finally being implemented in 2.6.38, but someone yesterday posted a few liner patch that can be seemingly easily inserted that does same and better. See: http://www.webupd8.org/2010/11/alternative-to-200-lines-kernel-patch.html.
