Points and Runtime what correlation?

I was wondering if I am correct on this reasoning.

Points are a way to measure the amount of work that is done by a given CPU. More WU's crunched and more points. If the CPU is very fast and/or has multiple cores working in parallel, he will be able to do more work per day hence more points and more WU's returned. This is very logical.

Runtime is different. It measures the amount of time that is spent by the CPU crunching for WCG. If the CPU works 24 hrs a day without interruption he would generate approx 1 day per day runtime result. In amulti-core each core running full time will generate a 1 day per day runtime score. A 4 core will generate a 4 day per day an 8 core 8 day per day etc.. This seems very logical too.

Fundamentally there is no strict correlation between these two measurements.

If I put 2 very simple single core CPU's say the slowest Intel Atom, crunching 24/7 for a given project, in one year I get the Sapphire badge even if I return one WU per day per cpu.

Right or Wrong?

If the two cores are running continuously on a single project, without any cpu downtime, then correct.

The badges are purely based on time spent computing and not the number of work units or speed of computation.

Wrong. You have to consider the overhead cost like OS functions/routines uses CPU time too.

100% efficiency is impossible to achieved. Most likely an Atom cpu crunching for wcg will have an efficiency rating between 87-95%

edit:
runtime time is based on cpu time not elapsed time.

Agreed, but I was trying to not overcomplicate by bringing in extras factors rather than answering the intended question.
