You should take a look on http://graal.ens-lyon.fr/~nbard/WCGStats.
Cheers,
Yves

Re: HCMD Progress Update?

The second phase of the HCMD project involves 2246 proteins, and 137 652 178 995 positions will be processed. This is 13.24 times the number of positions of phase I.

Yves a small question if I may.
Let's suppose that we have access to a crunching power on the grid magnitudes over what we have today, call it quantum computer or whatever, say 100'000 time more powerful at least.

If such a machine existed then what the ideal HCMD project would be : that is how man proteins against how many positions. It is speculation but It would help me to know in relative terms of the space set that we search how big it is compared to the absolute useful universal set that exists. This answer is also depending on the simulation model being used. Probably a project scientist could help.

Re: HCMD Progress Update?

Hypernova,
I am surely not the right person to answer your interesting question because I am not an HCMD scientist.
I would recommend to you to take a look on the PhD work of Raphaël Bolze. Maybe you could find the beginning of an answer.
Enjoy,
Yves

Yes
With the 2,246 proteins of Phase 2, the estimated time is 11.46x8000 = 91,680 years on World Community Grid.

from, the research page and go to details.

Re: First 4-digits WU number

Yes, I was just going to post the same thing. I noticed the first '1000' workunit last night and picked up a 1001 and 1002 since then.

We're trotting along at a very quick pace... I think we should reach the halfway point very soon.
