Since the project started; I've been asking day and night for WU's. 7/7 and 24/24, the project was noted as "asking".
----------------------------------------In these eight months I could'nt get ONE unit.... I've read a lot of explanations about different types of WU, I've tried to read hudreds of posts about my question, I understand the project may be intermittent, but... I must be a dark idiot. I still do not understant why I can't participate. Never mind, I stop asking units frot that particular project and keep on crunching on others. Good luck to happy crunchers and thanks anyway to scientists, techs and advisors... [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Oct 24, 2010 9:04:52 AM] |

OK, well we've explained this multiple times without success it is evident. This IS an *intermittent* which had limited supply taken by those who were sitting on the button. Also it was given a very low weight in the feeder, so a client asking for work had to be asking many times, right when work was in the feeder. None is there now again since 3-4 weeks, but in a little there will be a more steady stream... when the scientists are ready and not before that.

I am more than a little surprised that you haven't got ANY WU's in that time - as, not that long ago, there was a fairly steady stream of DDDT2 WU's for (correct me if I'm wrong), must have been 5-6 weeks.
----------------------------------------Admittedly, those who just had DDDT2 as their sole selection, would have got the majority (followed by DDDT2 + 1 other project, then DDDT2 + 2 other projects etc.), but I would have thought that you'd have struck lucky on at least 1 WU during that time... Also, if you had/have the "if there's no work..." box checked, then that would also have lessened your chances. If my understanding is correct though, virtually all of the DDDT2 WU's that have been processed up to now (i.e., the ts* ones), are more of a check/validation/test set, and that the bulk are still to come. So, I'm sure you'll still have plenty of time/opportunity to reach the level of contribution you wish for. |

It is right that I never asked EXCLUSIVELY for DDDT2. I don't like badges at this point...
What I want is to crunch and serve all projects. I always asked DDDT2 and at least another project and accepting other ones when those asked were not available... This is not so important. I work for other projects, more generous in WUs and that's all. I have only two small duos, so I do what I can... It's just that I do like to understand what happens... |

When I read that rain will be falling, I specify that DDDT2 is the only project for which I will accept work. I have not had a problem with running out of WUs (normally I run with an additional work buffer of one day) since I check the amount of of work I have at least every 12 hours. If I am no longer getting WUs for DDDT2, I specify at least one other project (C4CW at this time) to keep the machines busy.

If you have any other projects selected besides DDDT, you will get nothing, even 1 other will not work, if you have "Send Other" selected you will fill up with them and still get nothing. this last batch that ran for several weeks, I selected C4CW and DDDT, all I got was C4CW.
also check that you meet the minimum system requirements |

Legrandpiou,
From what you have described, it appears as if you have been well informed as to how to get work for DDDT2 and you did not take action as advised like the rest of us did. I have only six days of work completed on a single duo and I haven't said anything about this as I know more is coming. So why make a statement saying that you didn't get any work and you are not raising an issue? |

Legrandpiou,
----------------------------------------I am wondering too about your statement. Because it was a lot of discussions in several threads during the Summer and especially from middle August 2010. I too had the feeling that it was really difficult to catch some WUs for DDDT2. Starting on middle of August, I can fetch WUs setting DDDT2 as the single project for three hosts. I did this after reading recommendations in the WCG forum. "Well informed" people take a look (and take part) on forum discussions. There is no other way to deeper know what happens. Enjoy, Yves |

In the 4-5 weeks of the August-September flood of DDDT2 WU, I crunched about 2600 DDDT2 WU. If you are having problems in your configuration, there are plenty of people who will help you. I remember reading your posts identifying your issues, but you have to pay attention to their good advice. We all missed having you crunch with us. 90,000+ crunchers did good work yesterday so it is not the WCG system that is having problems.

The best way to do it is to:
1. Crunch other projects, with a 1 day cache, while you wait for DDDT. 2. Come here daily and check to see if new DDDT WU's are mentioned. 3. When you see DDDT Wu's mentioned as currently being sent out, you; A. Change your selected project to DDDT only. B. Change your cache from 1 to 9. |
