If I hadn't shutdown my PCs over night, I would have run out of WUs.
----------------------------------------Is it is I will run out before 12pm GMT. Patrick ![]() |

BOINCTasks tells me that the lappie has 16:56 hours per core left and the quad 17:30 hours. That's not to say that 1 or more cores wont be switching to the backup project before that if they start running dry.
----------------------------------------A "Backup project" is one or more outside WCG that have a zero (0) resource share set (SIMAP and Docking@home for me). The 6.10.58 client will only start fetching work there when no work can be had here and stop them as soon as WCG provides new tasks... and it will be cram rush when the interruption takes longer. Here's when I actually set the cache low, so as to not stock up on work from these reserve projects. When fetched, they will sit there in cache and eventually will be processed when the deadlines are getting near.

Just think of the huge points spike you are going to get when the BOINC Disk Drive returns
---------------------------------------- I had my caches all set to 9 days until recently. My quad is crunching it's last WU. The remainder should keep on crunching while Kevin does his thing. I think the team deserve a round of applause for keeping the WCG ticking over as reliably as they do. We are nearly up to our 6th Birthday. See how we all miss it when it takes a Coffee Break once in a blue moon. (Blue Moon - when 2 full moons occur in the same calendar month, the next one.. August 2012) Dave ![]() |

Reminds me of SETI@home being down a lot lately.
MilkyWay@home still running happy. |

Three machines with six cores. 0.5 day cache. Only the last WU running...I guess I will shut down and check later for the FSCK status.
