hi
I've installed the agent about 2 weeks ago + am now starting to notice some strange behaviour ... While the agent is runnig normally, being connected + computing fine - my firewall tells me, that the agent is trying to access the internet using skype - and in another occasion, is trying to access the internet using my antivirus software ... I'm somewhere between wondering + worried  Does anyone has a good explanation for that behaviour ? - is it save to allow the extra connections ? tnx in advance |

Hi,
----------------------------------------To firewalls the local communication over IP 127.0.0.1 never leaves the PC but they signal that anyhow as were it internet transmission... ZoneAlarm is one of those. Don't know what FW or version you have, but somewhere in there you can set an exception not to monitor this traffic. Probably if you exit the BOINC Manager while letting the core client service boinc.exe run, the blinking also disappears. Let us know. edit: IP 127.0.0.1 is also known as 'localhost'
