BOINC: "No Work Available to Process"

This type of message shows in BOINC when the device is associated to a profile that has sciences selected for all of which there currently are no tasks available AND the "If there is no work available for my computer for the projects I have selected above, please send me work from another project." was not selected. When all work has completed and the client task store is empty, the message shows:

A sample message set as the below will appear in red print when there is still work to process:
12/10/2010 12:08:45	Message from server: No work sent
12/10/2010 12:08:45 Message from server: No work available for the applications you have selected.
Please check your settings on the website.
Selecting the "If there is no work..." option on the My Projects page or on any of the Device Profile pages ensures that alternate work is send when the primary choices have none and thus prevents the device to turn idle i.e. stops contributing spare CPU cycles.

In the case the device is also associated to an active project outside World Community Grid, the client will fetch work from there and will in due time compensate with extra processing for WCG if and when work does become available again. In that there is the option now to define a "Backup" project that you assign a zero resource share **. Only when there is no work at all at WCG will the client fetch work from that project and stop processing that "Backup" work as soon as WCG work is available again.
