confused promote WCG via new technology

I saw recently GOOGle CEO Schmit on 'charley rose show' say that the newer TV's had un-used CPU power and he was going to capitalize that power with a browser ! etc.etc.
Get Big Blue to embed [via CA$H ] to embed Grid computing in those unused CPU cycles and let GOOGle share in the bandwidth cost .

I once asked 5 yrs ago , how to boost our pc's using 'thumb-drives'/ram sticks , either for ram-drives or storage and never got a response . now that I'm waiting to die, I'd like to know if my efforts where worthwhile . Hope to [at least] see y'all on facebook [ aka Social Networ cool k ]

Tegra II CPU's have potential; you could watch while you crunch - but of course they are not x86.

Re: promote WCG via new technology

There are also a lot of X-boxes, PS3 and Wii's that have unused CPU cycles to promote towards WCG but unless consumers are willing (most are not) to press their respective console manufacturers to do so it is not going to happen.

Though I was pleasantly surprised that new Vaio's will come with the Boinc software pre-installed, which kind of makes up for Sony's Removal of Linux support from the PS3. We can also hope that other PC makers follow suit...
