I have a few C4CW WUs which were returned on Sep 22. 4 of them ended up in "pending validation" status for 8 days now. Usually this is just a short step before they get verified OK.
Those ones have been in the queue for 8 days now, and still have no verification job assigned to them, or have not been validated by the central servers. All others in this status have a validation job assigned, and are waiting for the wingman to complete the work. How long is this supposed to take ? The WUs are the following, all returned on 9/22/10 05:12:27 c4cw_ target02_ 011927181_ 0-- c4cw_ target02_ 011766349_ 0-- c4cw_ target02_ 011760992_ 0-- c4cw_ target02_ 011748311_ 0-- |

The dafault deadline is 10 days for most all work at WCG, so 2 more days of patience and then a No Reply will get slapped on the wingman (click on Work Unit name to see detail) and a new copy will be send out. After, 1 more day for the new wingman to complete, 2 tops as those "repair" wingman are fast returners by default. Repair jobs usually have a 4 day deadline on production tasks..
----------------------------------------Sometimes a client downloads work, then does something that kills BOINC or the system, so those assignments are lost. Some buffer to the max so the original wingman result might still show up on Saturday.

he states that no validation job assign, I read as no wingman.
is there a "Try Validation" button when you click on the wu name? |

Indeed missed that "No verification job assigned"
---------------------------------------- . Still the original deadline point is a trigger to push these missed tasks into the validator queue, as was established in last few days indeed "try validation" to also appear on Zero Redundancy tasks.

There were indeed no other wingmen processing the jobs. The jobs were waiting for validation, alone, for 8 days.
I just went to check, and 3 of the 4 jobs I mentioned were validated OK today. On the fourth I indeed noticed the "Try Validation" button, which I just now clicked. I refreshed the list, and the job is now validated OK. Sorry for raising the alarm. I guess I should have waited 10 days instead of worrying after 8.  Thanks to all. |
