How to keep BOINC running in sleep mode

When I first downloaded BOINC, I'm pretty sure it had kept running during Windows' sleep mode. I thought it had been setting BOINC to run while my laptop was on batteries that enabled this, but since the last time I messed around with the settings, I haven't been able to set it to keep running during sleep. Was I just imagining things? If not, how can I keep it running?

Re: How to keep BOINC running in sleep mode

If your computer goes in sleep mode, it does not run anything, to include BOINC. Everything goes static until you wake the device up. You can set BOINC to continue running i.e. not to go to suspend, so your computer then does not fall asleep. Think it's simply to set the Activity Menu to *Run Always*.

OK, mine has been set at that. I have another question, though: does the Total Run Time statistic calculate how long BOINC runs or is it measuring something else? I should have thought of that sooner, this might explain my confusion.

Re: How to keep BOINC running in sleep mode

To be precise, BOINC reports true CPU cycles used for calculating tasks. E.g. if you set BOINC to consume 50% of the CPU time, then in 24 hours BOINC will only use and report 12 hours of that. Even at 100% you never get 24 hours mean because your system and the user take cycles for running the OS and whatever other application, games, mail, web browser.

That would be it, then; I set mine from 100% to 60 just recently, and had assumed the hours lost were due to shutting my laptop lid at night. Thank you!
