First thanks to all beta users for continued support on World Community Grid. The largest error we are seeing with the CEP2 Windows beta are exit -185 "CreateProcess() failed". I saw a couple of users report that they were seeing this error due to their anti-virus software. Can any users seeing this error confirm that it is or is not believed to be their anti-virus or firewall software? If you have confirmed it to be that what product and version are you running? Hi armstrdj,
I had the beta running on 4 different clients: - C2Q 8200@stock clock, 4 GB, Vista-64, - i7-720QM Asus Laptop, 4 GB, Win 7-64, - i7-920@stock clock, 6 GB, Vista-64, - i7-860@3,7GHz (special cooling), 4 GB, Win 7-64. All clients are equipped with "Avira AntiVir Personal" (latest version) and using standard Windows firewall. No errors observed, all 30 beta units I received for the last test are validated. I hope you can track down this strange 185 error to a special configuration. |
