Great grand children get that short deadline. They are those with 3 sets of position numbers, yours indicating it got 132. They are rushed because they're effectively holding up the completion of the batch.

All right. I didn't see this before, and I have almost 3 years of CPU time in HCMD2. Everyday you learn something new

There are a few odd events - I have just had 8 WU's through, all in a single batch, single time stamp, 4 day return dates, where 7 of them have previously errored out and the eighth was a detached WU - ......I note the server has been down too tonight.....my cache is down to 3 spare WU's - normally there are at least 8 in the queue.....

4-days deadline:
Are these tasks great grand children too or are they great grand parents, who don't have much time left: CMD2_ 1460-3CH5_ A.clustersOccur-1RA6_ A.clustersOccur_ 0_ 0-- 1430776 In Progress 11/03/11 07:41:58 15/03/11 07:41:58 0.00 0.0 / 0.0 CMD2_ 1452-2FK9_ A.clustersOccur-2E5N_ A.clustersOccur_ 0_ 1-- 1430776 In Progress 11/03/11 07:41:58 15/03/11 07:41:58 0.00 0.0 / 0.0 CMD2_ 1452-2FK9_ A.clustersOccur-2YUY_ A.clustersOccur_ 0_ 0-- 1430776 In Progress 11/03/11 07:41:58 15/03/11 07:41:58 0.00 0.0 / 0.0 CMD2_ 1447-2QNJ_ B.clustersOccur-2P85_ A.clustersOccur_ 14_ 0-- 1430776 In Progress 11/03/11 07:41:58 15/03/11 07:41:58 0.00 0.0 / 0.0 CMD2_ 1403-2K5P_ A.clustersOccur-2EEC_ A.clustersOccur_ 0_ 0-- 1430776 In Progress 11/03/11 07:41:58 15/03/11 07:41:58 0.00 0.0 / 0.0 CMD2_ 1447-2QNJ_ B.clustersOccur-1I7X_ C.clustersOccur_ 94_ 0-- 1430776 In Progress 11/03/11 07:41:58 15/03/11 07:41:58 0.00 0.0 / 0.0 CMD2_ 1360-3CEA_ B.clustersOccur-1SO8_ A.clustersOccur_ 2_ 35754_ 39177_ 0-- 1430776 In Progress 11/03/11 07:41:58 15/03/11 07:41:58 0.00 0.0 / 0.0 It looks like they will run about twice as long as the normal average. |

If you visit the charts of Nico_B you'll see that many batches have little bits missing: http://graal.ens-lyon.fr/~nbard/WCGStats , thus these way out of sequence tasks will probably be "force old batches to complete" jobs... to clear out the warehouse squatters. For comparison, for a week and more all work has been of 1576 and above on my crunchers and 1589 parents just trickled in.
------------------------------------------//-- edit: Note that the Nico_B charts are also weeks behind of what we're crunching. [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Mar 11, 2011 12:10:38 PM] |

Indeed, although knowing that Nico_B's chart does have a timelag between the batches we're currently crunching and it being updated, I have noticed the following batches don't appear to be complete according to that graph;
----------------------------------------A small fraction of batch No.'s : 795, 850, 1341, 1355, 1357, 1359, 1370, 1378, 1379, 1387, 1393 and then quite a few different batches from 1400's upwards. There may be others as well, with such a small fraction that they don't show on that graph. A rough guestimate of ~20% of batch No. 983 All of batch No. 1025. ![]() |

I've seen that total_huge.png picture before, but never noticed that normal tasks had a 4 days deadline like resends have and not the normal 10 days.
@gb009761: Looking to the position of the figure 1 on the axis of batch 1, batch 1026 should be done all IMHO and not 1025. |

As said, these will have been stragglers which the techs then at times push through the system with higher priority to include freeing substantial amounts of storage space. Last biggy they did and recollect, this freed up 300Gb of storage, just for 1 project... and clearing them off the live db has performance effects at that.
