How to make BOINC work on Standard user account in Windows 7?

Hello,

I tried to install the agent on my sister computer.. She has a standard user account on her computer and admin account belongs to me. I installed the agent on her account and during installation process I was asked for the admin pass.. I entered and installation was completed.. But the agent doesn't work on her standart account, it only work on my admin account..

I want it to work on her account..

So the question? How can I make the agent work on standart accounts?

I am not THE expert on this but if you install using the administrator account and using the WCG approved version, use the option "Install as a service and run under a restricted account. A reboot may be required after installation". Hope that fixes it. Thanks for Contributing.

Re: How to make BOINC work on Standard user account in Windows 7?

General recommended is to choose during installation:

"service/protected application execution"
and
"all users"

then BOINC will already be loaded ready to crunch before log-in, best set with a 45-60 second crunch delay (default with a clean install of the WCG skinned 6.2.28).

In Vista/W7 the service can be set to delay running during boot, so users can sign in quicker, or at least can't blame BOINC for slowing things down during boot up. Start services.msc, select in the general tab, and somewhere middle there being a drop-down selection box to chose the startup mode. Select "automatic with delay" (or whatever it says in English to that effect).

This way allows all users to run BOINC Manager. You could set a config flag to only use the simple view and another to stop/prevent adding/removing other grids/projects.

Re: How to make BOINC work on Standard user account in Windows 7?

Thanks guys for your help.. Finally I've managed to make BOINC work on all accounts..

Firstly, I installed it as a service and for all users and then I logged in as an administration and added all users to boinc_masters group in Local Groups and Users section at Computer Management.. All these happened in Windows 7
