SNURK I hope you are not overloaded with all these requests but I would like to be added to your list as well. Thanks

Hi all,
----------------------------------------This week it turned out to be a very busy hectic week at work, so that's why my replies to this thread are few and far between, and on the short side. Adding more crunchers to the signature script is not a problem at all. I enjoy all the replies here BUT ... This morning I made a shocking discovery . Turns out the available bandwidth of my free provider is disappearing fast . Now before these signatures go under due to their own success (that's a quote ) I need to find another provider fast. I won't have time to transfer everything today, nor during the weekend, but I hope to have some time next Tuesday. Downside is that everyone that has a signature already has to change the URL after this transfer is done. All newly requested signatures will be added afterwards. Sorry for the inconvenience, and feel free to keep those requests coming. All who have requested and not received their signature yet, please hang on. O yeah by the way, nice discussion about 17 or 18 projects. Indeed Beta is not included, that's why it's 17. After long and careful thought I decided that Beta is not really a science project, and therefore I don't count it. Like others said in this thread, the CPU-days for Beta are included in your total and are included in your average. So running Beta does benefit your total and average . Thanks for the suggestion of making some kind of empty ring for those 'running for bronze' crunchers. I'm still not sure whether I am allowed to add the WCG logo to the signature. Would be nice. I hope this current bandwidth is enough to stretch until Tuesday, if not you know what happened when your signature suddenly goes blank. ---------------------------------------- [Edit 1 times, last edit by SNURK at Sep 17, 2010 7:17:25 AM] |

Thanks for the update SNURK - I hope things quieten down a bit for you at work (I know, through painful experience, what it's like to be totally overworked to the n'th degree).
----------------------------------------As to whether the division is by 17 or 18, probably won't make that huge a difference to the majority of crunchers (after all, I don't believe that there's more than a small handful of people who've got above the Gold Beta badge), it's just nice to have that clarity of it being "solely based on actual research projects". With regards to potential new free providers - I'm sure you'll receive plenty of suggestions in the next day or so |

:D
----------------------------------------Who's going to shoot the messenger? There's the widget rules as guidance with the art samples which seems to fit the sig quite perfectly... keep it color / geometry correct, best not change it at all and www.worldcommunitygrid.org near it so folks make the connection where the stats info is relating to when it's shown in email or wherever, the none iFrame version of the widget long way from home it feels like. Certainly, when looking around BOINC world it's logo is widely shown under "fair use" such as here: http://boincstats.com/stats/project_graph.php?pr=wcg Great, Great job

Here's integrated a quick paste job into me sig, maybe adding in smaller print and in color code as shown in various places around the WCG website ref and waiting on a head movement, the napolitano way .

Really nice job, SNURK! The whole thing looks awesome.
----------------------------------------If you have some time free, could you do one for me, too? That would be great! Thanks a lot!
Cheers,
