Hi SNURK, On the slow scraping which will expand in time with more sigs added: The user.gz file does contain country, team ID and points per member. If sorted, does not that allow for determining the ranking from there? Mind you, that's a 20MB file daily. cheers. Hi Sek, thanks again for the suggestion. I will look into the user.gz file again to see if it's usefull to me. I would have to rewrite large parts of my code though. And really right now it's not that slow at all. It takes about 8-10 seconds to generate one signature. That's including downloading data, calculations, generating html code, converting html to gif, and saving to disk.  .. crunching on  |

Question to all: Any ideas what I can add to make this sig even better? You might consider adding the 'join' date for the member.The sig with join date here on the forums would be a duplication of the sidebar info, off the board certainly tells how long you've been at it for WCG. On the quick, don't see it in the export files but since BOINCstats has it showing as Sign-Up date, guess it's somewhere in there, probably the <create_time> field. If crammed for space to put the suggestions in, here a mock up of different ranking combos with and without the bullet points in different orders. bullet, identifier value indentifier, value identifier, bullet, value Removes the repetition of rank, country moniker and team.

----------------------------------------The join date is in the user level XML here at WCG that I'm already using. It looks like this: <RegisterDate>2007-11-26</RegisterDate>. After some thought I think I came up with a solution of where to put it. Coming soon ... |
