It sounds wise as most of what you say does, rcc.
So how would that be done? Would we need to get the attention of somebody from management? Would some of our community advisors be able to relay the matter? Or would we have to use family forum unfriendly words to get the attention of ErikaT? - perkele! ![]() |

Like little mermaid said, how we can help? I would - and I even think I was the final straw on that bandwidth I think, that here are people who would like to send a small sponsor gift . I hope... Your signature is perfect and time when will be available in each month will be smaller and smaller... What do you say, SNURK? Hey Snurk you do make some WONDERFUL signatures, can you use any account for the signatures or must you use one for all? I was thinking if you made a few more accounts, using our WCG names as long as we don't already have one, maybe it would help your bandwidth. For instance when I asked for one you made one, but could you have made a photobucket account for me too and just plopped my signature in there and not affected your account? Obviously this only works if I don't already have an account but even so it would just say when you tried to create one under my crunching account username, account already exists. You could ask use users if it is okay, but I am sure most of us would have no problem with it. I actually have TWO WCG accounts, don't ask it was a mess for awhile, so you could have BOTH of those usernames if you would like to create photobucket accounts to put the signatures under. ![]() ![]() [Edit 1 times, last edit by mikey159b at Feb 19, 2012 2:37:37 PM] |

Sorry, mikey159b, I avoided your lasso and slipped away - but if it is any comfort, it was your passionate and compassionate posts that made me build a nest with The Final Front Ear - and it was your SNURK sign that made it possible for me to track you down Fly on the Wings of Love That is very nice, are you going to this years event? I ask because I could send a 'friend' with a lasso! We are EVERYWHERE!!! ![]() ![]() |

IMHO the problem is not going to be the cost of a 2 year pro account as it is only US$40. ...skip... The pro account is delaying the inevitable. Move the signature storage to WCG and this won't happen again. I was looking at BOINC web pages starting with http://boinc.berkeley.edu/ and "The BOINC project" breaks down the work being done for BOINC. One item is for help wanted - programming and it says "BOINC needs volunteers to help with software development. BOINC consists of several areas, each with some required technical skills". I would suggest looking at this page to see how the signature item might be placed in BOINC. There is a statement which says "The following development projects are available (Note: please do not add items to these lists. Suggest new items in the boinc_dev email list.)" |

The second bullet under The BOINC project is Email lists and that is where you will find boinc_dev.

That is very nice, are you going to this years event? I ask because I could send a 'friend' with a lasso! We are EVERYWHERE!!! Which event, mikey159b? I love events.Last September I went to two events where Guitar Man of Team Edwardians performed with his band Backbeat in Poole and New Milton in England .... just because he invited me in these Facebook events. At the same time Mr. Edwardian took me and my "landlady" touring York and the beautiful Yorkshire Dales and the coast at Whitby. Maybe we should take the off topic conversation to my place Little Mermaid's "inflicting" thread where by the way I also took my answer to marvey11. I'm afraid of inflicting here. It was a perfectly healthy tread until I came. Now it's talk, talk, talk and the Photobucket bandwidth is rifted |

Hi all. Been on a short vacation. ![]() The good news is I created the remaining sigs: http://i1007.photobucket.com/albums/af195/wcgsig/539468.gif ; krn1 http://i1007.photobucket.com/albums/af195/wcgsig/604756.gif ; mijoparo The not so happy news is I am running out of monthly bandwidth at Photobucket. My monthly limit is 10GB and it resets on the 20th of each month. Today I'm at 98%, so I suspect there will be a black-out of 1 or 2 days before it resets again. ![]() Here's how the bandwidth evolved over the last months: jul 2011: 48% aug 2011: 54% sep 2011: 58% okt 2011: 52% nov 2011: 64% dec 2011: 89% jan 2011: 83% feb 2011: 98% and counting .. As you can see it started to get tight in december. Looks like I'm upgrading to a pro-account next month .. Anyway sorry for the upcoming black-out. ![]() SNURK So, that's the problem! |

Right, everything is back to normal. Monthly bandwidth is reset to 0%. I ran the script immediately to update the sigs.
----------------------------------------Thanks everyone for your kind words and concerns. It's greatly appreciated. ![]() I'm sure the pro-account (once in place) will keep things up and running for a long time. Added the following sigs: http://i1007.photobucket.com/albums/af195/wcgsig/303202.gif ; Pete Broad http://i1007.photobucket.com/albums/af195/wcgsig/796998.gif ; Lunamen http://i1007.photobucket.com/albums/af195/wcgsig/755422.gif ; eisler jiri http://i1007.photobucket.com/albums/af195/wcgsig/793598.gif ; www.pczachranka.cz Keep on crunching ![]() SNURK |

The price is right though [got a 2 year very discounted subscription at PB] Funding it yourself leaves no strings attached with that ;D Surprisingly [or not], just looked and my monthly renewal is 20th too and today at ''only'' 8.2GB. Stats show that only the Dashboard gets 500 plus hits daily at 475KB, the rest in the 50-100 range, many few times a day, but overall still totals in the 3200-3600 daily copy drafting. If at all, I'll split the pie off from the dashboard. There has always been one at the bit.ly/WCGDSH link, but that one get's few visits. Keep up the good work, SNURK. --//-- Hi Sekerob, Thanks for this nice insight in the dash and graph usage. You can count one of the 500+ views of the dash on me. I'm a daily visitor (and admirer) of this cool piece of data. I think a lot of members here base their crunching strategies on it. The sigs in total get about 30.000 views daily by the way. Never thought it would be so popular! Keep on your awasome work too, Sekerob. ![]() |
