It would be nice to be able to retain the historical data but eliminate hosts that no longer exist. Through system rebuilds and other tinkering I now have 23 device installations, but only 5 actual currently crunching machines. It doesn't really matter, but it looks kind of odd when compared to my stats.

I have 253 hosts and only 12 active. Do I care? No.
I just don't see what the big deal is. Ignore the dead hosts. ![]() |

In my case, it is the same physical device with the same name, though the HDD and OS were changed So therefore it is not the same physical device, since the phyisical drive and the physical (it comes on a physical CDRom/DVD) have been changed so it IS a different physical device.I have a client who just told me that they made no changes to their system, none at all. Nothing. Exactly the same. All they did was change their router. And they wonder why they cannot access the Internet, since they didn't make any changes. Same. Except the router comes with a different default IP address. How can you say out loud that you made no changes when you did. Baffles me. |

In my case, it is the same physical device with the same name ... The operative language is "with the same name". Hot link from boinc "Your computers" page: Merge computers by name Given boinc's language, I felt on solid ground saying it was the same device. As I discovered with another box yesterday, what boinc says about merge is not what boinc does. Thanks for responding. (Interesting tone to a couple of the responses ...) |
