gb009761, if a new project (Flu2) arrives soon, then wouldn't HFCC completion date be pushed back? not speed-up? I mean another project means splitting the available resources further, slowing down current projects.
----------------------------------------Of course, my personal guess is that the techs are working on re-compiling of some of the projects to speed them up on windows and since windows user do a big chuck of the work, this can seriously speed things up. ![]() |

Flu2 sounds interesting. Can anyone point us to a link so we can find out more about it?

Hello LoneWolf_53,
When HFCC gets near the end, some people who need only a few weeks to get a higher badge will suddenly devote all their computer time to HFCC. Changes like this just add to the uncertainty of when HFCC will complete. Lawrence |

crunched 65.72% -- 131,149,628 tasks of 105000000 WU (2 tasks per WU) - 210000000 total,
----------------------------------------and 78 850 372 tasks remaining 7-day average speed 222000 tasks/day, and with such speed project will be finished in 355 days (less than a year!) ![]() |

Sorry, rilian, but the numbers are not adding up as seen on my charts. Per a scientist project update 50% was hit on August 26, which is when 99511000 results went through the validator (I have daily numbers from day 1). At 210 million, before "repair" factor in the widest sense, invalids also going against the project progress tally, my Abacus then on that day made it 44.6%, but I plugged in 50% anyhow, not even considering that what we'd crunched could not yet all have been on the Toronto end user computers. Sooooooo..., really unless someone feels to have a base to debunk in substance, think we're more in the range of 58-59 percent... the Abacus, Mark II comes to 58.9%. Maybe there's an offline grid crunching too on a college network that fills the gap.... just hope to be wrong here as nearly 2/3rd progress (66.6%) reads much better.

SekeRob, what is your estimation on % of repairs+error WUs from total number of crunched results ?
----------------------------------------with HFCC slowdown, HCC is speeding up a little, so maybe 1-year estimation is not so wrong... Also grid is speeding up etc :) |
