Long crunch times

All of the C4CW WUs that I have seen so far take 1-2 hours depending on the machine. I now have 3 that have been running for 8 hours and they are only 6,7, and 14% completed. Are these something special or could there be a problem? They are c4cw_target_639219861_0, 639051801_0, and 639786947_0. thinking

Re: Long crunch times

Don't know. I'm not seeing anything like that and I have about a hundred right now.

I haven't seen anything like it either and I've already crunched 2500 or so WUs for this project

Re: Long crunch times

well the beta 3 ran about 4 hours and the beta 4 ran about 8 hours... so there are c4cw's that will run 4-8 hours out there

I did read something about the betas were testing longer run times but if I remember correctly they would only go up by a couple of hours. I'm just going to run them 1 at a time and see what happens. I know the estimated run times and actual run times are way off on some CEP2 WUs that I've done so we'll just crunch and see. biggrin

Re: Long crunch times

I guess we'll never know. I let the one that was 14% complete run to see what would happen. Something happened and the computer was completely locked up this afternoon when I got home from work. Had to do a hard reboot and when I checked all of the WUs that were crunching or in cache were gone and the client downloaded a whole new set of WUs. I have no idea what happened.

What does the "Results Status" page say about those WUs?

It shows them all as detached.

Re: Long crunch times

I have just got my first of the c4cw_target02_ files, so it looks like the targets from beta have now been released. These ones look to be running around double the time from target01 so seem to match with beta3 and so people will start seeing varying times depending on which target they are crunching.
