My couple of old steam powered antiques finally got me a bronze.
Even if they were powered by a pair of oxen that would work the same: badges are based on computing time and one our of a P3 is worth the same as one hour of the most outrageously overclocked state-of-the-art processor.

Badges are meant to reward lasting participation, not the resulting amount of work.
