error on multi-core CPUs

Hi, all

I'm a user from Taiwan, recently I check the log on the web, and found there are errors mostly on one of my computers-- T2600, 4 gb ram, win xp sp3, kaspersky internet security (KIS) 2010; and sometimes on my T9400, 4 gb ram, win vista ultimate sp2, no antivir software.

I run on boinc 6.10.58, and the my boinc CPU throttling setting is:

On multiprocessors, use at most 100.0% of the processors.
Use at most 100.0 percent of CPU time.

here is the error log:

the most type:

<core_client_version>6.10.58</core_client_version>
<![CDATA[
<message>
too many exit(0)s
</message>
]]>

another error message type, only be seen one time:

<core_client_version>6.10.58</core_client_version>
<![CDATA[
<message>
CreateProcess() failed - 3333 (0x36b1)
</message>
]]>

please help and check it, thank you.

Re: error on multi-core CPUs

And to make sure Kaspersky does not bother your WUs you might exclude BOINC's data directory and all its subdirectories from Kaspersky activity. Everything in these directories has already been screened by WCG/IBM before sending it to you. Rather twice than never. smile

Next time you post it would help us much if you tell us which applications are producing errors and the time they run before failing.

This project has had problems of this sort for years. See HERE I used single "core" machines only on this project and turned the multi-core machines onto other projects. Recommend you do the same.
