Thanks, Sek. I thought the thread was going a bit off-topic, so I steered it back on again I think.
----------------------------------------The Berkeley News on Project Outages forum only contains stuff that was available to me anyway: during the outage, that the server was down, which I knew, and afterwards, when the forum was back up again they copied knreed's posts. Maybe someone from WCG could do a quick live post there during possible future outages. The WCG forum was out until near the end of the outage. I wanted to know earlier whether WCG server staff knew about the problem, it being Sat night there I think. If they'd said "we know about it and we'll fix it ASAP, but Sunday", that would have been OK. But if they didn't know, the delay would have been longer. [OT again]: @Sek - I have another problem that you may be able to help me with ... and ... thanks for info re BOINC log flags, but then I get too much info. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Long live 6.2.19. [Even more OT]: My antivirus just reported it had blocked access from a malware site called seksfreepornmovies.com. He has his fingers in many pies, our CA. ![]() [Edit 1 times, last edit by Rickjb at Aug 17, 2010 5:09:00 PM] |

Hi.
I didn't want to start a new thread because i'm thinking this is connected to the outage, since then my result pages have been growing and not going down like they usually have. In the past, after a couple of days the valid results get purged, now that's not happening is something broken / not running? |

Validate or PV jail and what are you crunching momentarily? With HFCC it's almost as if blinking makes the valid results go off. Momentarily I have 32 pages of which the bulk is dddt2 ,15 pages, and CEP2 is 14 pages, mostly all valid (only 11 in Pending Validation for the 4 sciences that I'm contributing to presently)
----------------------------------------For PV Jail wingman celebrations there is a special thread :)

Hi. I didn't want to start a new thread because i'm thinking this is connected to the outage, since then my result pages have been growing and not going down like they usually have. In the past, after a couple of days the valid results get purged, now that's not happening is something broken / not running? It depends on the work units...Generally valid results get purged a few days after the entire batch has been completed. It looks like the valid results you are concerned about are CEP2. We are working with the researchers to investigate some work units that have failed. This is keeping the valids in your result status page around longer than usual. Thanks, -Uplinger |
