Re: Join The International Team

Thanks Chris!
Yes, the HST units are on low priority at the feeder as it seems. Very few WUs reaching me as well when I have other projects ticked as well.

Currently aiming for a 10 year Diamond for UGM. It seems to end soon so I am making a run for it. Currently at about 6 years and 220 days of crunch time.

Be well!
/Leo

Re: Join The International Team

Hi Leo...hoping you make 10 years for UGM...

All these projects are important so I feel whatever WUs I get is a good thing. I currently have all projects picked.

Re: Join The International Team

Thanks Chris,
Yes, I also am not a real "badge-hunter", since I think the research is all that matters a the end of the day. But I am a sequential person so if there are badges I will set a goal - say Diamond 20 years - and then usually run them one-by-one. (Also by picking one or a few projects at a time I can get more WUs from projects with lower feeder priority).

It's like at the University; "We will start by reading chapter 6-7 until next time...". And I just "Oh dear, what's wrong with starting at chapter 1?" and I could not jump to somewhere in the middle of the book - I had to read chapters 1-2-3-4-5 first, in that order, and then finally 6-7. Just one of those OCDs I have :)

Oh dear, in 20 minutes I will have my birthday...feeling old already... :/
Be well Chris :)

Re: Join The International Team

Leo...I hear you and understand. Goals are good and the badges do help to set them. The important priority is helping with the research. The badges are only a way to acknowledge our contributions. I would crunch without the need to get a badge, but they do help motivate a lot of fellow crunchers.

By the way Happy Belated Birthday, I hope your day was special.

Many Regards,
Chris

PS. You don't sound OCD to me, just logical. Who knows the good things you may miss skipping chapters !!!

Re: Join The International Team

Hi Chris,
I completely agree, I crunched Grid.org and WCG before badges existed, but I think that badges...why not? Since as long as WUs get crunched then badges may be a fun way to set goals and knowing that you have contributed at least a certain base amount to every project in an easy way.

Thanks for wishing a happy birthday - yes, it was a really good day! :)
Spent it with parents, had some good food, wine.

Thank you also for calling me logical! That's not every often I hear other people say about me :D And you are right - what about all the good things I probably miss if I skip chapters? Well, luckily my University years are behind me since five years ago but the same principal follows me wherever I turn. Still, there is a chance it is all logical ;)

Have a nice day!
Kind regards, Leo

Re: Join The International Team

Hi Leo....always good to hear from you!!! It appears we are the only team members communicating on the Team board. It would be nice to hear from others but it's their Crunching that's important !!! It's much different here than it used to be.

Regards,
Chris
