In my options I choose to ask before connect to internet.
I have verified that, if I am not at PC so I can't answer to connection request, the computation stop waiting for an answer. I seem this is all computational time lost. Is this a problems to solve? |

Hello dallfla,
That is an unusual option to select. I am always connected to the internet. Are you on dialup or some other sort of Internet connection that requires manual intervention? Lawrence |

dallfla, you can just increase your cache size so that you can download multiple WU that can be run until your next time you have internet connection. To increase your cache size click Advanced->Perferences, under the network usage tab you can change the additional work buffer to accommodate your needs

dallfla,
----------------------------------------You might suspend network activity** when you leave your machine and resume it when you are attending your PC This way BOINC will not try to establish a connection while you are away. That will also allow you to tell BOINC "OK for network activity" only when you don't need the phone line for your own activity. ** This is done from the Activity submenu of the Advanced View. |
