WCG will be starting a new project soon, just wondering what you guys think it will be or what you would like it to be. I have 2 ideas.
----------------------------------------1. Calculating the odds of different plans to take over the world 2. Figuring out a way to make McDonalds burgers healthy but keep the taste the same I personally would contribute all my resources to the 2nd idea ![]() |

I would prefer the first option... Nice idea, if all PC's on the world would cruch for the WCG...

It could be a phase 2 of IADS although I think it's unlikely.
----------------------------------------I hope It is some kind of genetic diseases research or something like that. There are many incurable genetic diseases. ![]() - AMD Ryzen 5 1600AF 6C/12T 3.2 GHz - 85W - AMD Ryzen 5 2500U 4C/8T 2.0 GHz - 28W - AMD Ryzen 7 7730U 8C/16T 3.0 GHz |

If it is a new project I guess it could be the Flu2. Though I dont see why it would be a second project; the first was quite short and when HFCC started up again it stayed as one project (no HFCC2 badge) despite having 3 different types of tests that could last 9months. Also, Flu research is an annually repetitive; could mean ...Flu5...Flu9 and so on - there only are 4 bases, after that you have to be exotic (dD or no O). How many are there in rounders?
CEP2 is only running for Linux users so perhaps that could be considered a new project (for Win users), or perhaps DDDT2 will move from intermittent to full-time and be deemed as a new project by the powers that be. We may know later this week should the Betas turn up. How about nutritious oats for the world ![]() |

I don't think it'll be flu2 (or the second phase of IADS), as the scientists that are running it, are also the ones running DDDT2. I'm sure that this will be coming along in due course, but not yet...
----------------------------------------With regards to DDDT2, that's already up and running (albeit in "Active/Intermittent" status), and I don't see that changing - basically, due to the nature of the project itself (the phases and the manual checking/preparation of work in between each phase). Also, I don't think it'll be CEP2 for Windows/Mac, as bbover has said that they'll be working on that when this new project has started into Beta (I'd guess the former, wouldn't need too much work doing to it to convert it from Linux to Windows/Mac). So, I do suspect it'll be a totally new project - and hence, the reason why WCG haven't said anything about it yet (so that they can maximise the press coverage). Also, I'm suspecting it'll be using code that's already up and running (such as autodock), as the impression I interpretted from bbover's statement, was that they weren't expecting too many issues with this new project. What I am pretty certain is, that it'll be something worthwhile, as otherwise, it wouldn't have gotten past the strict criteria WCG lay down for projects. Thus, only time (and the Beta testing) will tell... ![]() [Edit 1 times, last edit by gb009761 at Aug 3, 2010 10:29:54 PM] |

I don't know which beta will come first, testing CEP2 under Windows/Mac or the beta for a new project, but in any case
----------------------------------------- the beta for CEP2 will simply be testing that CEP2 runs fine under these two platforms, not a new project in any way - if the other beta is for a really new project (i.e. not a phase 2) you will not know more than which application software it is using, at best. For its name and graphics you will have to wait for the real launch to take place, as usual. Unless WCG's communication policy is suddenly changing. ![]() |

To be honest, right at this moment I do hope, that it is a project, which will find a solution against getting grey hairs...
I just looked into the mirror, even this is not happening since yesterday, but it is getting worse... And also my beard is now starting to get grey... So, for me personally, this could get my favorate project... ![]() |
