I installed Ubuntu in Virtual Box and Boinc 6.10.17 as service - its old version but dont know how to upgrade it

I nearly did it the same way, but i use ubuntu 10.04 as 32 bit. I start boinc manually by the boot up manager. It works fine, even when starting boinc as service. Perhaps u should try ubuntu 32 bit. So check out your 64-bit services etc. I guess ubuntu 64 bit in a virtual box maybe a bit experimental, even while I don“t know the details of your PC.

my machine is AMD Phenom 2 x4 and that is why I tried 64bit Ubuntu didnt know its going to be a problem It is a very small problem, and easy to fix.but its ok now thank you Not worth downgrading a 64-bit machine to a 32-bit operating system. Happy crunching! |
