Dictators are often elected by democratic means, and then they decide to stay in power using various methods... Silencing any opposition is usually how they start the process... ![]() |

Yes it certainly is a terrible thing that people try to enforce copyright. If we didn't have copyright laws then everyone could lawfully claim that they wrote every document that has been written.
Certainly marysduby I expect that you would be against copyright laws, since you have woefully disrespected that law time and time again. It is against the law, in most Western countries, for any person to copy the written work of another person without the express approval of the author. If the owners and editors of the Las Vegas Review-Journal find that someone has copied the work the company has published under a copyright, then the perpetrator will be punished. You may not be aware that students attending the University of Virginia have been ejected for copyright violation. It must be very depressing for you to find out that people are punished for violating a law. In case you missed class that day, it is actually against the law for the President to illegally copy the written work of other people. If you had done any research, you would have found that the owners were very good friends with Barry Goldwater and Ronald Reagan too. Did you know that President Obama has also met Supreme Court Chief Justice John G. Roberts, Jr. So maybe Chief Justice Roberts is actually behind this "witch hunt", or possibly Karl Rove or Dick Cheney (whom the President also knows). Have you met the President? What a crock............... ![]() |

----------------------------------------Dear Campaign for Liberty Member, It's do or die time in the fight to protect free speech. With time running out before Congress' August recess, Harry Reid is engaged in a mad final push to ram through the DISCLOSE Act before the clock runs out. A cloture vote to end debate on the DISCLOSE Act(S. 3628) is scheduled for 2:45PM tomorrow. Senator Chuck Schumer has introduced a revised version and used Senate rules to bypass committee and go straight to the floor, meaning this so-called “transparency” bill will have as little transparency as Senate leaders can get away with. We've fought this First Amendment-shredding, Big Labor-empowering infringement every step of the way, and we have a chance to strike a devastating blow and uphold the Bill of Rights by preventing cloture. In fact, if the National Rifle Association and certain huge left-wing groups had not cut a deal to not be covered by DISCLOSE, the bill would have died in the House. But if we don't act now, we may not have the ability to in the future. The statists would love nothing more than to silence C4L and like-minded organizations by going after our donors for opposing their agenda. Harry Reid is doing everything he can to railroad the opposition. Let's show him the freedom movement will never back down.
