Hi,
I'm trying to download tasks to run. On the Transfers tab I see 100% on the progress but on the size it exceeds the size needed to download - for example 980/640 KB - it continues forever to grow. I already tried to reset the project or to reinstall the Agent. Please advise Thanks in advance, Gil Inter Core i7 is waiting for tasks... Windows 7 Ultimate 64 Bit |

Hello gberesta,
We could use a lot more data. Could you paste your Messages tab here? What file is in Transfers tab? Lawrence |

Gil,
----------------------------------------Where do you stand? Is it OK now? If not please restart your BOINC client and copy/paste the first 30-40 lines of its message log to give us a chance to see what is wrong. |

Hi,
----------------------------------------It seems that some have this persistent HTTP error and wish I could reproduce, but can't. Are you on dial-up or ADSL, fixed line? If you open up the client_state.xml file in the data_dir, what bwdown speed is printed there? Same as in the other thread today, any proxy or firewall (what brands if any) Maybe try a project reset in the client, given that no actual results will get lost. edit: Oh, and please check the rights for the data_dir (printed at top of your message log)

Hi,
I'm behind ADSL and a router LinkSys WRT54GL (Firmware Version : v4.30.7). I tried project reset as well as reinstall without luck. I do have full rights to data_dir and my firewall is disabled. If you navigate to the /project/www.worldcommunitygrid folder have all smaller fixed task files successfully downloaded? A thread somewhere discussed that BOINC was not allowed to write exe and dll files. Is there nothing that stops specific writing of these?
----------------------------------------As for rights, it's not so much you, but the restricted boinc accounts needing to have the rights such as boinc_master. When I install I always select "Advanced" all users. feeling like the guy with a red/white walking stick... maybe try to attach the client to for instance rosetta@home and see if you succeed to get work from them. That would narrow it down to WCG specific. PS: That downloads show larger than 100% is because BOINC does not reset the counter when the actual downloads are resuming from the start.
