I'm Back

Morning,
I've had a bit of a break but I'm back I've had a few days of what I think Americans call R&R's - Rest and Relaxation. I've finally broken my Rollercoaster duck (A duck is when you get out in Cricket without scoring any runs, as well as a bird with an affinity to water chicken ). At 39 I finally figured that life was too short to be terrified of these things - the engineer in me worries about excessive loadings, metal fatigue and seized bearings - so sitting alongside my eldest daughter and her boyfriend I took to the appropriately named Nemesis. I opened my eyes after the first loop the loop and by the end it was "Again, again". Look what I've been missing out on for all those years. Here's the link to the website including a video of the ride http://www.thorpepark.co.uk/explore/nemesis_inferno.asp
By the end of the day I even gave Colossus a go!!
While I've been having fun it looks like you've been busy. MOT has soared through 25,000,000 points, excellent number crunching team. With the PC I'm typing this on it would have taken until my 136th Birthday to achieve this feat single handedly shock .

Since I've been away we have 3 new member of the crew of the good ship MOT. Thanks for joining us Res3000, janet keller and Windflowers. Sorry I've not welcomed you aboard sooner. Your member pages are now online. If you would like any extra info on there just drop me an email my email address can be found on the team's website
Thanks for choosing to crunch along with the MOT crew and welcome aboard.

In my absence wilsondr has made it through the 1/4 Million barrier - and he keeps on going! plus parmesian has become the 52nd member of the team to make the big 100K. Congratulations to you both - keep on crunching.

Keep those fans blowing for the World Community Grid.
All the best

Dave

Come and Join MOT - NOW!!!

Hello all, been away too. Great article brings the funny Franz, thx
Welcome to Theunderdog, Res3000, Janet Keller and Windflowers, good to have you on the team.
Congrats to wilsondr and parmesian on hitting targets.
Watching myself gradually drifting down the rankings is a bitter-sweet experience. Happy (for team and wcg) and depressing (for me) at the same time.

confused confused Will it Finish Today? confused confused

Hi all! I noticed that the P3 back in my bedroom hadn't contributed a result since three days ago and checked to see that all was okay on it. It is running a rather large work unit and is at 88% after 74 hours 30 minutes! By my calculations, it should finish at just about midnight GMT! Wonder if it will make it for today's or tomorrow's stats? Whenever it hits, it will probably be a record for that system!

Here's an interesting link

http://www.technewsworld.com/alert/43796.html

Looks like Big Blue has a 367 Teraflops system running. Lower down in the report it mentions the potential of Grid Computing.

Hello we're here we need your problems to crunch.

Good points to come Dave smile

My 3200+ has one at 14 hours on 45% that's 410 points in the bag already. Unless I'm very lucky - these things do happen - It will be in tomorrows total.

I hold out high hopes for tonights update.

I don't think we should settle for 3rd every day thinking

We need just a bit more Oomph to give TW something to think about. Put the Frighteners on them. Shock them back into action shock . Then we could kick start those /.'ers

Any offers confused

All contributions great or small fully appreciated rose

Your potential team captain

Re: confused confused Will it Finish Today? confused confused

Just worked it out yesterday we needed just 15 more 3Ghz PC's or equivalent to get ahead of TW for the day.

or 30 1.5Ghz Machines or 60 P3 750Mhz or even 120 375Mhz Machines.

Any combination of the above will do.

Don't delay sign up today.

You won't regret it.

All the best
Dave
