Hi all,
----------------------------------------I recently upgraded my Macbook pro and reinstalled Boinc. I'd like to set it up as my screensaver. The problem is, whenever the screensaver starts, after a few seconds of initializing it flashes back and forth between the desktop and the screensaver, even though I am not interrupting it. It keeps doing this indefinitely, so no computation gets done. Let me know if I can resolve this issue so I can get back to computing! Thanks! snow leopard + boinc screen saver = bad, not recommended, is in faqs

WCG has changed the offered download to 6.10.17 as prior versions don't work well or not at all on SL. You could try the currently [developers declared stable] http://boinc.berkeley.edu/dl/boinc_6.10.56_macOSX_universal.zip , though that one has already been superseded by .57 as up to .56 the client can/will loose the recorded elapsed time on client/system hangs and power outs. ttyl

I upgraded to version 6.10.57 and it seems to be working fine now. Back to curing cancer! Thanks for your help.

Oops, never mind. The same problem has cropped up again. Funny because I saw it working properly before. Has anyone else encountered this?

Oops, never mind. The same problem has cropped up again. Funny because I saw it working properly before. Has anyone else encountered this? herculez, are you running in throttled mode, such as 60% CPU time or While the system is in use (background), stop computing etc, default 25%? The test is to disable all this in the Activity menu option to Run Always and see what happens. RPC could be intermittent do security settings on any AV/Firewall. See FAQ index for the section of topics on SS. Then, when it reoccurs, plz post the message log of BOINC, to see if computing get's interrupted in some way. Past entries are found in the stdoutdae.txt file.
