If it were happening at my home:

About BP which acronym has taken on several other meanings such as Big Polluter.

http://www.ifitwasmyhome.com/

Type in England, the home of this oil giant or Ireland or Iceland to get perspective of the size of the disaster. Where I am it reaches currently from my doorstep all the way to Corsica or drowning Sicilia.

It's an outrage.

BP has a great track record for stuff like this.

"BP Played Central Role in Botched Containment of 1989 Exxon Valdez Disaster"
google it

Why BP is allowed to keep doing business in this country is beyond me...

Re: If it were happening at my home:

We can bang on the head of BP for sure. They are responsible no doubt, and this disaster will cost them a lot, it may even bring the company to its knees. It even can fail. If this leak is not stopped then costs may well reach levels that no company will be ever capable to cover.
We can also learn a lot for the future, to mitigate risks, and to develop new solutions to cope with such disasters.
But let's not forget that we have all of us our share of responsibility in this disaster, simply because we want that oil badly, we need it, and we want it to be as cheap as possible. This is the perfect recipe for disaster. This is not the first and will not be the last I am afraid.
