----------------------------------------A new Linux beta test has started for an upcoming project. The initial download for this beta test is quite large due to the large application and a large input file. If you are fortunate to get multiple workunits on the same computer the second download will be much smaller. In addition for this first beta test the time between checkpoints could be long. If possible it is best to set it to keep in memory. The workunits are set to exit after 8 cpu hours and return the results if they have not completed. Will this "new project" just be for Linux, or will there be a Windoz version coming soon?

There will be a Windows version in the future. This is just an initial test on linux. There are about 20,000 results that need to be calculated on this test :)

Something woke me up... this new download/upload bandwidth quota function in 6.10.56... snagged

Since this is a linux test only...Those members with linux machines will be busy on beta this weekend :)
Also, the initial downloads are large...but the subsequent downloads for work units are a lot smaller. -Uplinger |

On checkpointing, have it set to at least a 300 second interval, but they actually write more often, initially... after the first 2 they dried up... none more wrote since (10 minutes) though progress percent increments steadily.
