To much time--little money--save hundreds--now running Ubuntu on two machines-- http://www.ubuntu.com/ --now i will be looking to upgrade my mess with faster machines with no OS--maybe before RT makes mincemeat out of me!! ![]() I like your judgement day banner! ![]() Thanks--you can use it if you want Yeah, especially because the judgment is going to be that Americans like European-style socialism. Welcome to the future, gentlemen. Gobama. The future is what you choose - and we don't choose that. Except you're outnumbered substantially. Remember, Conservatives are alienating hispanics and libertarians with the whole Arizona papers please law. Also, Obamacare is now overwhelmingly popular. Burn. Guess what? Americans are also on-board for financial reform, and the Republicans are lining up behind the banks! Oh, and the oil spill isn't helping the Republicans with their "drill baby drill" nonsense... Everybody is predicting the Republicans to pick up seats. I don't see it that way. I think Karl Rove and the entire Right Wing is going to be pretty peeved come election day... let's just hope the militia nuts don't come out in force. Jonathan, you seem like you care about people's rights. What about the rights of the people of Arizona? They, like you and me, pay a lot of money in taxes and the services they are paying their taxes for are being denied to them as there are too many people that don't pay any taxes that are "entitled" to those services. The people of Arizona have rights, too. They have more rights than the illegal aliens that are over running them. If you had to pick, who should receive the services? Those that pay for them, or the people that don't belong here? And please don't tell me that the illegals pay taxes, too. They don't. They actually get credits for their anchor babies. Just tell me what side you are on. American citizens, or illegal aliens?

Just tell me what side you are on. American citizens, or illegal aliens? I feel bad for Arizonans. For too long, we haven't had a reasonable immigration policy. But that doesn't give them the right to write their own state immigration law. Anyone who has studied constitutional law will tell you the law is blatantly unconstitutional, which I thought was your whole big deal in the first place? You guys who complain about how Obama is trampling the constitution make me laugh. If you actually cared about the constitution, you would have been up in arms under Bush's presidency, and you should care about Arizona intentionally targeting brown people with their racist "Papers Please" law. When the Phoenix Suns have to lecture you on human rights, you know you're waaay off track. Also, I haven't heard anything about the numbers. This perspective you're spouting, this is held by about 20% of Americans - the so called "5th column." Now that Tea Party candidates are getting destroyed in elections, they're learning just how marginal that perspective is. Oh, and the Republican party is a dying party because they alienate hispanics, blacks, gays, and college educated white men and women. Where is the future of the Republican Party? I don't know any young Republicans (they don't want to be associated with Pat Robertson-style anti-immigrant racism). Look at the tea parties - it is just a sea of elderly white people. This election cycle is going to be pretty easy from a liberal perspective: 1. Go after banks for obviously immoral policies, such as shorting stocks it recommends to clients, and for packaging investments "doomed to fail," and selling them to clients. 2. Health Care reform success 3. Stabilized US economy during greatest financial disaster since the Great Depression and stimulated positive job growth 4. Greatest reduction of nuclear arms since first START treaty 5. Opposition to racist Arizona immigration law 6. Repeal Don't Ask Don't Tell Good luck. I'll be the one voting with all the young people. Good luck in the red states, you're gonna need it. |
