Except you're outnumbered substantially. Remember, Conservatives are alienating hispanics and libertarians with the whole Arizona papers please law. Also, Obamacare is now overwhelmingly popular. Burn. Guess what? Americans are also on-board for financial reform, and the Republicans are lining up behind the banks! Oh, and the oil spill isn't helping the Republicans with their "drill baby drill" nonsense...

Everybody is predicting the Republicans to pick up seats. I don't see it that way. I think Karl Rove and the entire Right Wing is going to be pretty peeved come election day... let's just hope the militia nuts don't come out in force.

Re: smilesmile Join "MyOnlineTeam" Today - Chapter 43 smilesmile

The recent economic boom/bust cycles have convinced many Americans that it is economic stability with rational markets, markets not easily victimized by computer errors or typos (that 1000 point drop was caused by a banker typing billion instead of milllion), instead of maximizing profits for the wealthy, for which we ought to aim.

People don't like the idea that Wall Street banks can legally package bad financial entities and sell them to their customers, knowing that they will fail. People are tired of hedge funds and huge banks shorting stocks that they simultaneously recommend to customers.

Conservatives have simply led the American people to these conclusions.

Airzona's "papers please" law is not any different fromt he federal law. Since 1940, it is required by law that aliens carry their visa or green card on them at all times. Illegals don't have either one of those, so Arizona is simply applying federal law at the state level.
Illegals can't vote so there is no one alienated. The legal aliens are siding on the conseratives on this one. 70% of Arizona, and 52% of the country are siding with Arizona. Thirteen states, including California, are considering such a law. Your facts are way off on this one.
The Constitution does not give any authority for Obama and his thugs to take over the banks. It's not ever going to happen.
And unless you enjoy sending money to terrorists, you better start hoping that we start drilling our own oil. We have enough oil on our on land and oceans to sustain us for hundreds of years. Why would we not utulize our own resources?
And as a matter of fact, this oil spill (or leak) doesn't even rank with the Valdez spill, with only ranked 35th in the world of Oil spills.
I just read a survey that off all of the people that voted for Obama, only 39% of them are willing to vote for him again.
The man is an idiot and puppet. What they are trying to accomplish is not going to work.
If you need something to do for the rest of this Sunday, check out what Eurpope is trying to figure out what to do with their Euro.
Socialism has failed for them and they are scrambling to find something to do before the world markets open in a few hours.

Man, no disrepect to you at all, but you are sadly out of touch with what is going on.

If the Obama administration was truly interested in busting some bad bank deals, then why are they not going after Freddie and the rest of the thugs?
Perhaps it has something to do with how much money the actual people behind the scams paid to endorse this president.
Freddie and Fannie need to be investigated, yet they are being overlooked.
Wonder why?

If it was truly a human error, and "billion" was entered instead of "million", then the programs did what they were supposed to.
Had that been correct, the system would have worked and many would have been saved a great deal of money.
In any case, it rebounded to back to where it was (still way below the line).
What brought the market down that day was Greece. Greece (and Europe) are still a problem, and it isn't an accident.
If they can't figure any thing out in the next few hours, it will still be a problem on Monday.
I moved all of my retirement money into a savings fund. Instead of an $11,000 loss, my account actually gained $22.
Every time Obama talks, the stocks dump. I keep moving the money around and I haven't lost anything.
Keep that man talking, I'm getting rich.
