Re: HFCC WU names & project status

There is more than 30 days left of new work by my calculations. But it is getting close. Some batches were out of sequence as we rebuilt them into smaller groups. But if you're in a badge push, start going :)

-Uplinger

(Edit: Remember, my forecast for how many more days of new work is an estimate, so it's not 100% accurate, hard to tell what the future holds!)

Thanks for the update, Uplinger. Have the batches out of sequence been sent out already, or are they still to come? And did you take into account the vastly increased computing power we have seen on this project recently?

Your comment, at least, tells me that I will not be able to make it to Ruby. Could be worse, as I think the HFCC Ruby badge is ugly. laughing biggrin

Martin

On reconstruction is seems that the 57% on the official site was what the scientists had screened. They had the data alright... Probably too scientist and busy with the wetlab testing :D

Back to the drawing board, for now changed EOP to June when the last work should get processed, when the grid starts to slow down a bit through the 3 month holiday period till September when growth resumes.

Thanks, Sek. Getting the work done is more important than getting my Ruby badge. batting eyelashes

So badge hunters, if you need to upgrade your HFCC badge, hurry up! biggrin

Martin

Re: HFCC WU names & project status

With mad glint seen in eyes did some math. If going full out with hopes of there being 50 days left of supply and filling up cache near end to grab a total of 40 days worth, can make it to blueeeeeee ... just need 345 CPU days worth whistling

applause Re: HFCC WU names & project status

A little CPU years reconstruction from latest:

- Launch 13.3.2009
- T1: 8,595 CPU years ~ Nov.1, 2009
- S1: 6,417 CPU years ~ Feb.16-21, 2009 (project running 15,012 to date)
- S2: 5,500 CPU years estim early June, 2009 (project running 20,500 CPU years)

There were/are as it seems not quite 3 million compounds in each target test, rather somewhat more than 2.85 million, which further sped up the project.

From an original guess of 2 years down to 14 months if things don't alter.

Roughly 6 weeks would get me to 5 years. It definately is going to be close!

Guys, don't claim all WUs for yourselves! Leave some to others. Or how else shall I reach five years if you have all the WUs? ;-)

A classic case of Action > Reaction. The genie is out a little early, so grab it while it lasts ;O)
