If the marker was "Too Late", which happened occasionally, the credit may have gone lost.
...
NB: Since a few weeks, most errors [Invalids were already] that can be tied back to a science application fail are also automatically credited for time and results. Not immediately... there's a periodic script that goes through all the error results and matches them against an acknowledged set of fail codes such as the HPF2 401 error.
