New Windows build coming to beta testing

We will be running a new Windows build for HPF2 through beta soon. This new build is to address the "ERROR:: Exit at: .\dock_structure.cc line:401" error. We have seen good results in our internal testing environment. Any members who have machines that experience this error may want to try and get some of the beta workunits. We appreciate the members on-going patience and help in the forums while we are working on this issue.

Thanks,
armstrdj

This is good news. I'd like to be able to "spread the wealth" between all projects.
Bring on the Beta!

Re: New Windows build coming to beta testing

Good news. I have a fast machine that chokes on the HPF2 wus.
I will try to get Betas on this device. Will you post in the beta forum when it's time?

When are we going to see this in production?

Re: New Windows build coming to beta testing

I misread your post...I too would like to see this in action. Too many of my machines getting ERRORS which make them show up as unreliable when work comes.

Re: New Windows build coming to beta testing

Per Uplinger's post from the test [in the Beta forum] I recollect there to have been a 90% drop in this 1-2 minute fail. The test was well over 10,000 results and a batch was used from production, i.e. it looks to me a resounding success. It's now up to the scientists to do the assessment. Don't know if this 711 error that showed it's face in place is a show stopper.

Anyway, plz do allow a little time since his post was made on the 14th http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/...ead,28872_offset,0#276019 when results were still coming in through the 17th at least.

Added: The post, verbatim:
Re: Beta Test for HPF2 - version 6.17
The beta so far has been a good increase over what we saw in production for the same batch.

There were 57 exit 1's for BETA compared to 609 for production.

We are going to send this information to the researchers later today when a few more results come back in for them to review.

Thanks,
-UPlinger

For those observing, we're running prod version 6.03 and this beta has progressed to v 6.17 which goes to show how many iterations were tested in Alpha and Beta [think there were 2 of latter] to kill this bug and I think there was another as well, hardly noticed by us volunteers.
