There is more than one way to run test and someone can invent a different way to do it. Then with competition there is no monopoly power. With no monopoly power there is little pricing power. The price for detecting the presence of these genes (BRCA1 and BRCA2) should plummet. Companies are entitled to a fair return for their research, but not a return which gouges the consumer. Cheers
