WCG Graphic incompatibility with Win 7 ??

I am advised by my computer retailer/repair shop that graphics from WCG were causing my machine to freeze after just a few hours of processing runtime. Have you heard of this problem? I am now running Win 7 64bit on an Intel Q9550 proc. (I also posted on a problem of constant errors on results for Human Proteome Folding)

I would appreciate knowing if this graphic incompatibility is a known problem.

You have been subjected to the often used 'blame someone else because I do not have the answer' bogus explanation. More likely that you need to change settings on your Power/sleep/Hibernation. Displaying a graphic on the monitor does not freeze a computer.

fkehoetx, I take it you mean Screen Saver?
Just disable it and see how you get on!
- Right Click your Desktop, Personalize, Screen Saver icon at bottom Right. Click it, Set to (None).

There have been reports of problems with the screen saver for years.

There might be an issue with HPF2 on W7 64bit; I read another post reporting the same problem on similar system.
Strongly suggest you disable running that task
- My Grid Tab, My Projects.
If you have more than one system, you could setup 2 or more profiles (Home, Work, Default, School) and add your W7 64bit system to a profile that does not crunch HPF2 tasks.
- My Grid Tab, Device Manager (on Left), Device Profiles.

Re: WCG Graphic incompatibility with Win 7 ??

Thanks to skgiven, astrolab, and mitrichr for your insights. I HAVE disabled the screensaver from WCG and seem to have no more problems. I used the generic "graphics" because I have an abiding suspicion of expensive graphics cards like the one I present have installed...
