What's your total crunchers output efficiency for WCG?

Okay, how this works. You take the total time contributed of 10 days ago and deduct that off last night to compute the daily contribution divvied by 10 of course, and calculate the hours/minutes average per day. Then take your total cores and multiply that by 24 hours. When I do that, I get 97.9% of the total available time going towards actual WCG crunching, and I'm doing the odd hour a day on CPDN model too.

So, 23,50 hours per thread go effectively to WCG... glad I can wrestle my 2 hours from the quad each day ... that's all it take, my typing, the radio, the mediaplayer, the printing, the chart generation, the Oz ;P

No man overboard, but what is your percentage like per core?

(plz don't tell us your core total... the more you have the higher that percent is likely to be, if WCG addicted. We are suffering from envy at times :o).

Re: What's your total crunchers output efficiency for WCG?

Hello,
I wonder, where I can find a chart about the number of WCG members from the beginning till now?

The reason is: I try to help you leaving comments on as many Youtube videos as possible. Comments like this:

"Fight against AIDS with the help of your personal computer?
And use the Computer just as before at the same time?
Not possible?
Possible.
Give BOINC or worldcommunitygrid in Youtube search field or any search machine. Installing BOINC is safe and for free.
The Programm runs without problems for years already."

Or comments like this

Watch Music on Youtube and help find a cure for cancer and AIDS without donating money?
Impossible? No!
Everyone can help finding a cure for cancer and AIDS at home. Please write BOINC or worldcommunitygrid into the search field of Youtube or any search engine for further info
Running the Programm BOINC on your homecomputer you donate unused computer capacity to researchers. BOINC is safe and has been working several years now."

And I really would like to know, whether there is an effect of these steps. This is why I would like to see, whether the number of World Community Grid is rising.
Thank you for your answers.

Re: What's your total crunchers output efficiency for WCG?

Martin,

Member numbers rising is in a number of places, but if you follow the WCG Global link in my signature there are several there that graph out member totals, active and devices active... #12 and 13 give the most recent history. Gaining members is one thing. It's retention that has the concern. Crunching is seemingly not an easy thing for many. That is for me the biggest Why [to which I know the most probable of many answers all too well, I think].

But if you open a new topic, we can have a focused discussion, this one on total CPU output efficiency.

thx for your interest and efforts to spread the word.
